Africa, Eastern: Zimbabwe

This incredibly diverse country, home to the glorious Victoria Falls and many fantastic game reserves is a gem to eco-travellers, adventurists and calm characters alike. Sadly politics have nearly killed tourism.

The country is split into central Highveld plateau, dropping into the Zambezi River Valley to the North but it also comes with lakes, mountains, forests, monuments and of course accomodation for every pocket, ranging from budget to exclusive.

Winter (May to August) is the best time to travel as summer (November to April) can be incredibly uncomfortable with humidity and heat. Places to visit include of course the Victoria Falls and other amazing National Parks, Hwange (a great elephant sanctuary) Kariba Dam and the Natural World Heritabe Site of Mana Pools National Park.

Due to unfavourable travelling conditions, luxury accommodation that is usually exclusive will now be cost extremely competitive and cheap.
