This town is one of South Africa's most beautiful with gorgeous countryside and Cape-Dutch architecture.

Swellendam is a romantic little place, made for strolling through the streets. Its restaurants are charming and The Old Mill should be visited for a cold drink. The Bontebok National Park is a must see and one can hike just about everywhere.

Events in Swellendam for the rest of 2008 include the SPCA Country Garden at Bakoondshoogte Garden with food, crafts, books and gardening talks on 11 November.
