Phuket - Temple near Wat Chalong, Phuket Phuket is a paradise to all its visitors and Thailand's largest island is just under 50km long and just over 20km wide. This popular island has Phuket Town in the south-east, the airport in the north and the famous beaches are located mostly on the west coast where surfing and diving is popular.

Phuket Climate is hot and humid with cool weather from May to October and hot summers with rain storms.

Transport

Flights
are regular from Bangkok and the Phuket International Airport is situated in Phuket North.
International departure tax: 700 baht (payable in cash)
Domestic flights are very simple on service but budget-friendly, including Nok Air and Air Asia (costing 1000 - 2000 baht one-way to Bangkok).
Domestic Flights departure tax: included in the ticket.

Airport transfers through limousine (blue) taxis f(costing 500-600 baht to Patong Beach or Phuket Town), metered (yellow) taxis (costing 300+ baht), minibus services (shared taxis, costing 100-200 baht per seat) and airport shuttle bus service every half an hour to Phuket Town bus station (costing 52 baht).

Buses travel to Bangkok, Hat Yai, Krabi, Chumphon, Phang Nga and Satun, Ranong and Sungai Kolok.

Motorcycle taxis or tuk-tuks, meter-taxis or buses offer transport on the island.

Phuket - Travelling between islands in style! Boats and ferry services offer 2 trips daily from Phuket Town to Krai and Ko Phi Phi (costing 350 baht for a one-way ticket and takes about an hour and half). To other islands ferries only operates in high season, such as Ko Racha (2 hours) and the Similan Islands (9+ hours).
