Disabled Travel in South Africa

South Africa recognises the travel spirit of every person, including the disabled. We are in the process of making all public spaces disabled-friendly and accessible. Therefore the aim is to have buildings and infrastructure plus nature trails wheelchair- and pram friendly and to use technology to ensure inclusive use by all through for instance Braille and sign language.

Disabilities that are taken into consideration should include those that are:

Blind
Partially sighted
Deaf
Hard of hearing
Mentally ill, intellectually challenged or illiterate
Pregnant
Mobility harmed
Temporarily disabled
Children, maturing and/or aged
Limited by diseases such as heart and/or lung disease, kidney failure, diabetes etc.
